Blogging Again

So I am blogging again.  Just because I was quiet in blog land for 2011 does not mean I had nothing to say.  I think most days it is just the opposite, my heart and mind are too full that I wouldn't even know where to begin to write.  This site is a mess and my wonderfully smart hubby has said that he will improve the look for me.  So some changes should be coming over the next month.

I have had many people ask me if I am blogging about our adoption.  So for those who have asked -  Here we go.  I will write when I can and hope it is more than just noise... and it will give me an outlet other than talking Kevin's ear off.

    yippe-skippee! i'm dancing and twirling around the office right now... so happy that there will be occasional written updates about the judkins family, your darling kids, your eventful adventures, and that precious ellie! i know it's all about finding (making?) time, but please know that when you do take the time to post something i'll be over here reading with delight!

This morning I found myself in yet another medical room with my daughter.  One more specialist, one more opinion, one more door opening to a thousand more questions.  Appointment number three for this week.  Again not anything new for us. lessons of christmas: joseph and mary

In the wonderful busyness that surrounds this time of year it is easy to loose sight of the reason behind all the celebration.  The enormous gift of God.  The sacrifice of love.  The importance of those three words: God With Us.   And so for the days leading up to Christmas, I like to go back to the the original story in the Bible and to try to read it again.  Not as a memorized story, but one that holds new life and meaning.  This year as I have read and reread, I am captivated by Joseph and Mary.  Over and over again the story tells of their obedience resulting from their faith.   God says.  And they do. No hesitation. preparing for surgery: a surprise vacation

I LOVE surprises.  Kevin and I often joke that surprises are my love language.  Being the receiver of a surprise is almost as fun as planning one for someone else.  And this is why, a few weeks ago, I found myself wide awake the night before our big adventure. We did not tell anyone we were leaving.  In this world of social media, it really felt like we were sneaking away. There was and is so much to be done before Elie's surgery.  The November 3 date on the calender seems to be rushing at us with lightening speed.  If we went by to do lists we knew we needed to stay home and "get stuff done".   But something else was stirring in Kevin and I.  We needed to get away.  We needed to build a memory for our family that we could think back upon in the coming months.  We needed to spend time together away from the chaos of life.
