The road winds longer

So we found out this week that the wait times for our adoption have increased. The wait for referral is now 14 to 16 months. This means that we will travel to bring home our little girl between August and December of next year. My new prayer is that she will be home by Christmas of next year. Of course I would love to have her in my arms today, but trust God's plan above my own. In the waiting is where I learn to be her Mommy. This is not just about me desiring a child. I want also to be the Mommy that she needs. Our prayer is that we will be able to communicate to her how much we longed for her before we ever saw her face. Each month we wait, we will love her even more. When we explained all of this to my oldest, he said,"Oh, but that will be so long to wait!" What a great opportunity to explain to him about God's perfect plan for our family and that we can trust Him to bring our baby home when the time is right. And what an incredibly joyous day that will be!!!

Our visit to immigration

Tuesday morning, my husband and I took a trip to the immigration support office to have our fingerprints taken. It actually a very interesting experience and really great to be surrounded by people from all over the world. I would love to know each of their stories! One more step closer to our little girl.
