Prayers Needed

We would appreciate your prayers over the next month. In December we will have to redo our homestudy because it is only valid for 12 months. We have already sensed that God may be calling us to change some of our information regarding age of child, adopting siblings, or children with great health needs. Please pray that we will hear clearly God's call for our family and continue to walk in faith in the calling we have received. A friend reminded me yesterday that our eternal God already can see little Faith as part of our family... I like that! The past few days have been hard for me and my heart longs for the rest of our children to come home. We are specificially praying that we will not do anything based on emotion, but be willing to answer God's will for our family without fear of the future.

Our baby's name

We still don't know who she is, how old she is or when she will come home... but God has given us a name. Months ago I read Hebrews 11:1 "Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen ." and next to it in my Bible I wrote the words "adoption". Kevin and I have discussed some names for our little girl, but thought we would wait to get our referral until deciding for sure. Recently though there is one name that we cannot get away from and the entire family has agreed that our little one should have this name, her name is Faith. This week as the boys and I walked down the path to the playground near our home, we were discussing what faith means. I explained that faith was seeing with our hearts what we cannot see with our eyes. He said, "like the name of our baby." Yes, Kody, just like the name of baby. Although we cannot see her with our eyes or hold her with our hands, we know that she exists and hope for

Teaching Joy to our Kids

I wanted to share the following information from my dear friend Julie on ways to teach our children about JOY. Hope it blesses you and your family. Children’s Praise Play Date! October 1, 2009 An XCMamas, Children’s Praise Event The Fruit of the Spirit: Joy The Fruit of the Spirit “But the Fruit of the Holy Spirit is love, JOY, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control. Against such there is no law.” - Galatians 5:22 – 23 What is JOY? The dictionary defines joy as a “feeling of happiness…delight…pleasure…enjoyment”. Everyone wants joy, but only God’s Holy Spirit can give us a joy that helps us be happy in good times and bad times. Where do we find JOY? We find joy in God’s presence! Psalm 16:11 says “You will show me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy, at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.” And we enter into God’s presence and joy by praising Him! In John chapter 15, Jesus tells us to “Abide (Live) in H
