open door

Peace and rest at length have come

All the day's long toil is past,
And each heart is whispering, "Home,
Home at last."
~ "Home at Last" by Thomas Hood

It took a home across the street to jump start the process.  A sought after home sold to make us cling harder to the One who had called us to this journey.  Months of searching and coming up empty to remind us to trust our Father.  Failed attempts to refine and redirect where we were supposed to go.  Many moments of questioning and tears, all to prepare us for the moment when we would walk through this door.

Love at first sight.  We both could not believe this home was within our capability to own.  The owners had spent the last 14 years remodeling.  Each remodel reformatted the home in a way suited perfectly for our passions, every single one of us.  This home holds endless possibilities for our family and keeps us connected to a community we love.  We hoped one day to live in a place like this but thought that would mean moving to another area of the country.  And we have tried.  For a few years we have tried to move and every door, every time, closed.

We are truly in awe that this blue door opened to our family.  And it will stay open to anyone looking for a place to rest, a place to be loved, a place to laugh, a place to cry, a place to eat, a place to grow, a place to find family.  Because this home is not just for our family.  So stop by anytime.  Our door is open.
