Essential Oils for Spring Allergies

When I was eight years old the springtime and I began our love - hate relationship.  I LOVE to be outside but my body would go into full attack mode.  The only way for me to leave my house was to medicate with pharmaceutical drugs.  Until now.

Last year when I was struggling with morning sickness my friend Cindy introduced me to doTERRA essential oils.  They have changed our lives.  I know that sounds dramatic.  And really it has been dramatic.  Besides Elie's crazy allergic reaction when we were on vacation last summer, all five of my children have been pharmaceutical free for 14 months.   This is huge for our family.
I HATE selling things.  When we were little I would make my sister sell my girl scout cookies because I didn't like asking people for money.  I don't consider being a Wellness Advocate for doTERRA a sales job.  I just love helping people find a way to improve their lives using natural essential oils that God created for our wellness.  And I also love that in the process I am helping my own family too!

Okay, so back to the issue of seasonal support.  Here is what I do for our family.  Hope this helps your family as well.

* Mix 2 drops of Lemon, 2 drops of Lavender & 2 drops of Peppermint in a shot glass with 4oz of water.  Swish 10 - 20 seconds in your mouth and swallow. For kids start with one drop of each.  If you have an onset of symptoms, repeat the oils every 20 minutes until symptoms start to improve.  Then once or twice daily for maintenance.  Peppermint can dry up a mama's milk supply so I am not using the peppermint this spring, but it is still working great so far.  Last spring the taste of Lavender made me vomit so I put it on the bottoms of my feet instead and that also worked.  I still think Lavender tastes nasty but I love the results.

* 1-2 drops of respiratory blend diluted with organic coconut oil to chest and under nose before bed and 1-2 times throughout the day

* You can also use Lemon under the nose to help soothe your nasal passages.  I like to combine lemon with breathe  and fractionated coconut oil in a roller bottle.  (Roller bottles can be purchased at www.aromatools.com)
* 1 -2 drops of protective blend and 1 - 2 drops of Lemon to bottom of each foot in morning and before bed

* 3-5 drops of Lemon in each glass of water you drink throughout the day

* Diffuse EITHER: protective blend, cleansing blend, Lemongrass or Melaleuca

In addition to using essential oils, here are a few more suggestions that work for us.  Take care of yourself: exercise, rest, and eat whole foods.  Decrease your gluten, dairy and sugar intake.  Shower every evening to wash off all the pollen from outside.  Close the windows and wear sunglasses when outdoors.
