Fighting for our kids

This week Kevin and I were talking about the delay in receiving our children. We trust God's timing and His providence. And we also recognize that there is a spiritual battle going on. And the enemy does not want these precious children to be a part of a family where they will hear the gospel of Truth. My dear Ethiopian friend once told me,"We have to pray more than you do." There is an intense spiritual battle going on and the Ethiopian Christians that we have met are so very aware of it and spend much time in prayer with one another. We ask you to stand with us and put on the armor of God as it says in Eph 6: "Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints." Thank you for your prayers for our family. And please continue to pray that the orphaned children of Ethiopia would be allowed to pass through the courts quickly. We covet your prayers and your friendship.

  1. Totally lifting you all up in prayer. I know the Lord is leading you all on an unfamiliar path in the adoption process, and that right now He is the only one that knows the beginning and the end to where it will lead. He knows how tightly knit both of your hearts are to His and that He is using both of you in this process to glorify Him and stretching your hearts to be used for his purpose and plan in the future.

Isaiah 42:16 (NASB)I will lead the blind by a way they do not know, In paths they do not know. I will guide them. I will make darkness into light before them and rugged places into plains.

Praying that the light will shine more brightly in this process, that He will give you and expectant and peaceful hope that only he can give, and that He will take these rugged rough patches and make them smooth. That you will be able to catch a glimpse of his big picture in this, and see how many lives you are impacting for His kingdom. Praying protection over your little girl, knowing that He knows her more intimately that anyone on this earth. Praying that He is already molding her heart to be one that loves and honors Him with out restraint….and praying that the process speeds up.
    xoxo
