Pennies from Heaven

When we began this journey, God led me to a verse in Ephesians 3:20 "Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever!" We began to pray that God would work in ways beyond what we could imagine, especially in the area of finances for our adoption. We desire our adoption to call others to adopt as well and many of the reasons we hear for not adopting is the cost. Well, the coolest thing happened at A.C.Moore. All morning was spent shopping for the holidays and after picking up my son from preschool we had one more "quick" stop to make at A.C.Moore. The check out line was halfway to the back of the store and with two hungry and tired children it was not much fun. As I was unloading all of our items into our car I noticed that we had missed two bottles of glue. My mind began to play through all the senarios of how to avoid going back in the store, but it was unescapable. So we all headed back into to stand once again in the forever long check out line. As I was swiping my card through the machine, I felt a little tap on my shoulder. I turned around and a woman handed me two $20 bills and said,"A woman told me to give this to you" and she walked away. I stood there jaw dropped in awe, not quite comprehending what had just happened. Then the tear began to fall and I was overwhelmed with how God is providing for our family. My son asked,"Mommy, are you sad?" "No, " I told him,"Mommy is just very happy and blessed." When we got to the car we all prayed thanks to our Heavenly Father and blessing upon that special woman, whoever she was, who gave us the money. With each little step, God encourages us to press on in faith knowing that He will provide.

Our first Home Study meeting was tonight. And our social worker is so friendly and easy to talk to. We will meet again with her next week. We are getting there...
